Christmas Long Jump

The Christmas Long Jump is a competition which is run within the 3-4-40 and any member of the 3-4-40 may compete in it.

The Christmas Long Jump takes place during the month of December in the run up to Christmas. The competition is free to enter and the winner will receive the ‘Christmas Long Jump Trophy’ which they get to keep for one year.

The winner and any other notable entries will be announced at the January 3-4-40 meeting as detailed on the website.

The Rules

  • The aim of the Long Jump is to make the longest flight possible within the 3-4-40 region during the month of December. The 3-4-40 Region is defined as Wiltshire, east of Salisbury Plain, North Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
  • The Long Jump will be run from 6am Friday 1st December to 3pm Sunday 24th December. All entries must be received by Christmas Day.
  • All flights must be conducted within the ‘rules of the air’ as outlined in the Air Navigation Order. Landing in an SA will invalidate your entry.
  • You may enter as many flights as you wish.
